How agent verification works on Heimly

On Heimly, a verified real estate agent or company has completed identity checks before they can list properties to the public. Verification happens in layers — individual identity, company registration, and ongoing review activity — so tenants and buyers can tell trusted professionals from spam at a glance.

  1. Identity check (NIN). Independent agents and individual landlords verify their National Identification Number (NIN) through Heimly's identity verification. The name on the ID must match the profile name exactly.
  2. Company registration check (CAC). Real estate companies and brokerage firms additionally verify their CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission) registration. Once verified, the company gets a corporate badge that appears on every listing under that organisation.
  3. Marketplace profile review. Verified agents create a public marketplace profile with their specialties, service areas, certifications, and commission terms. Heimly's team reviews the profile before it goes live in the agent directory.
  4. Reviews and ranking. Tenants and buyers leave reviews after real interactions (an accepted application, an active tenancy, an agent contact). Higher-rated, more-active, and more-verified agents rank higher in search results.
